Most frankincense oils are infused using whole tears—containing large amounts of water-soluble gum and essential oil that don’t extract into carrier oils.
We do something different.
We hydro-distill our resins first to remove the gum portion, then dry and powder the pure oil-soluble resin. This creates a true resin extract rich in boswellic and commiphoric acids—the compounds most associated with firm, youthful, resilient-looking skin.
The result?
A resin infusion that is up to twice as concentrated as traditional whole-tear oils and delivers noticeably more skin-supportive benefits.

Resin vs Essential Oil
Most people don’t realize that frankincense essential oil contains only a tiny fraction of the beneficial compounds found in frankincense resin. During distillation, less than 5% of the resin becomes essential oil—the rest, including the valuable resin acids (like boswellic acids), is discarded as waste.
Why This Matters
This isn’t just wasteful—it also places enormous stress on frankincense trees, many of which are already at risk from overharvesting to meet the growing demand for essential oils. By relying only on essential oil, we pay more and get less, while putting the trees and their ecosystems in danger.
