The final protective layer in the Wildwood ritual.
Wildwood Tallow Balm is a concentrated facial moisturizer made with regeneratively sourced tallow slowly infused with whole frankincense resin. Its rich, cushiony texture helps soften dry skin, reinforce the skin's protective moisture barrier, and seal in the hydration and botanical oils applied beneath it.
Calendula-infused jojoba, frankincense and myrrh infusions, rosehip, pomegranate, pearl powder, and antioxidant-rich vitamin E complete the formula. Arrowroot creates a more refined finish while helping reduce the heavy or overly greasy feel sometimes associated with traditional tallow balms.

Our Process
Whole frankincense resin is slowly infused into rendered tallow to unite the protective richness of tallow with the oil-soluble compounds of the resin.
We then blend in our house-made calendula, frankincense, and myrrh jojoba infusions with rosehip, pomegranate, pearl powder, vitamin E, and rosemary extract. The balm is poured in small batches without added water, essential oils, or synthetic fragrance.
The Formula + Ingredients
Frankincense-Infused Tallow forms the base of the balm. Tallow is structurally similar to the lipids already present in human skin, which is why it absorbs well and supports the barrier rather than simply sitting on top of it.
Calendula, Frankincense, and Myrrh Jojoba Infusions carry the oil-soluble compounds of our house-made botanical preparations into a richer, more occlusive format than a serum can provide.
Rosehip, Pomegranate, and Pearl Powder contribute fatty acids, antioxidants, and a soft-focus finish that keeps the balm from reading heavy on the skin.
Arrowroot refines the texture, reducing the greasy feel commonly associated with traditional tallow balms.

The Ritual
After applying Step Two, Wildwood Face Serum and Beard Oil, warm a rice-grain to pea-sized amount between the fingertips. Press gently over the face, neck, and any areas needing additional protection.
A little goes a long way. Use less for daytime and slightly more as an overnight balm or during cold, dry weather.
For best results, apply over toner and serum rather than to completely dry skin.
